Love When It's Brass

'Love When It's Brass' A comedy about a wedding by Alison Watt was first performed as part of Coastival 2011. Conceived in three parts, part one took place at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, part two took place in an underground car park at the Palm Court Hotel in Scarborough and part three was presented on the lawn outside Scarborough Town hall. Following Coastival the whole play was then presented in the Concert Room at Scarborough Library. The play was revived as part of Coastival 2019 at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. In the original production John Pattison played guitar, wondering around the auditorium with a giant sun on the top of his Top hat whilst playing the guitar to depict the passing of time. In the 2019 production the score was revisited and John played keyboards live onstage.

The cast for the first production was Jade Nadon, Jim Wells, Leigh Woodhead, Barbara Halsey, Liam Watt Pattison, Asti Aghanian, Shaun Crocker and Vivien Wray. The set was designed by Maddy Demitriou Venus.

The 2019 production featured, Jade Nadon, David Brown, Josephine Pimm, Kate Woodward Hay, Scott Ward, Lisa Ponter, Darren Foster and Rae Yaldren. The set was by Maddy Demitriou Venus
