The Champion Of Paribanou

about

The Champion of Paribanou

This score was a huge undertaking. There was a full underscore, which I hand wrote and performed on multi keyboards. There was also a half an hour suite of music that played throughout the building for the whole of the Winter Season in 1996. Audiences walked from the music filled foyer into the Round Auditorium, where the music swelled and you were met by Roger Glossop’s fantastic set including a ‘real’ flying carpet and twinkling lights of cities embedded in the floor of the stage. This play was produced twice at the SJT and Alan Ayckbourn maintains that this is one of his favourite plays. This is a small selection from the suite that played before each performance.

World Premiere: 29 November 1996
Venue: Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough
