The Jollies

This was another large-scale production involving a cast of seven professional actors and also many community actors. The story follows Billy who is invited into the sacred Cabinet of Shadan during a magic trick being performed by Mr Magico. A series of adventures ensue where the protagonist Polly ‘s brother and mother are transformed to twenty years older and younger versions of themselves respectively. Polly has to try and return them to their original form whilst being chased by the police and social workers.
The score was fun to write as it required a film score feel combined with Circus music style arrangements.

World Premiere: 3 December 2002
Venue: Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough
